This booking is for a 1.5 hour Clutch and Gears lesson.

These are ideally suited to someone who has passed their CBT on an automatic, or currently rides an automatic and woud like to be able to master the clutch and gears!

We will cover the basics of what a clutch does.

How to operate the gear levers

How to select a gear

Bite point of the clutch

And if we can, we may possibly get to changing gear.

If everything goes well, there is even the option of a short road ride.. You will to supply the usual driving documents and valid CBT certificate though before we are able to do this for safety and insurance purposes

Please note: this is NOT a FULL CBT course.

If you have any specific manoeuvres you wish to practice or attempt, please leave us a note when booking telling us what you want to practise/learn, we can ensure we are ready for you.

Training with us.

These courses are operated on our off-road facility in Locking Road Car Park which provides a safe area for you to learn.

We try to make our training courses as fun and enjoyable as possible, but always run to the highest possible standard.

Please don't think that all motorcycle training is taught the same over the country, there is a huge difference in what some consider acceptable.

Our students notice a big difference in the standard of training received when visiting us if they have previously trained elsewhere.
Those attending full licence courses often wish they had taken some training with us prior to starting. Some have never been taught the most basic machine skills correctly.

What you will need to bring.

You will need to bring your UK photo card licence with you on the day. (Old style paper licences MUST be accompanied by a valid photo ID, for example, an ID card or passport.)

If you have a provisional licence and wish to have on road training during this session then a valid, original CBT Certificate, will also need to be produced and a license summary. (Unless using the lesson to complete a CBT that has previously been taken with us.)

Please note it is your responsibility to check your licence is valid to use for training in the UK.

If you are wanting to go on the road during this lesson a good understanding of the highway code will need to be demonstrated at all times.

We highly recommend bringing your own, in ear, headphones with a 3.5mm audio jack, however, these are only needed if you are going on the road. We also keep a supply that can be purchased on the day of necessary.

Attendance.

Please ensure you arrive on time and with the correct documentation.

Appropriate Clothing.

A Helmet, Jacket and Gloves will be required, along with appropriate sturdy jeans without rips. Sturdy footwear including boots that cover the ankle are also required which allow easy use of the controls.

We can supply equipment for use whilst training with us, but it is limited and we cannot cater for all shapes and sizes.  The equipment we have available consists of helmets, jackets and gloves.

Please note: There is no protection offered by tracksuit bottoms or trainers and you will be turned away from training and tests if clothing or footwear is deemed unsuitable and alternatives are refused.

Bike hire.

Bike Hire is included and covers fuel and insurance on a 3rd party basis.

Benelli BN 125cc Manual - A low seat geared machine most suitable for novice riders of all sizes. (17yrs+). Not recommended for anyone who cannot ride a push bike as a minimum.

If using your own machine, you will need to supply evidence that it is taxed, has a valid MOT and insured in your name for the lesson duration.

Changing the date.

Should you wish to move the date or time of your lesson you can do so up to 24hrs prior to the course start by logging in to your student portal which you will have access to after you have completed the booking and payment process.

Unfortunately cancelations after this point will result in a total loss of your course fee.

Booking for someone else.

Please book using the name, email and contact details of the person attending the course. This information may need to be shared with the DVSA.

Multiple bookings or shared email addresses can cause errors in our system and may get cancelled.

We are only able to deliver these courses in English.

To be safely trained on a motorcycle you must be able to speak and understand the English language to a conversational level. We are not allowed to begin any training if it is evident that communication between the instructor and the student will present as an issue on the day. This is due to safety reasons.

It is not possible to have an interpreter present at any point during training sessions.

All communication whilst on the road is via radio & we must be 100% confident that students in attendance can respond safely to all instructions given.

Medical problems or learning needs.

If you have any significant medical problems or learning needs that could impact your learning & progress during your course, please ensure you disclose this in the notes section when booking.
