When were CBTs introduced?
CBT tests were introduced at the tail-end of 1990 and stands for Compulsory Basic Training. The thinking behind them was to try and reduce the number of motorcycle and moped accidents. Not only this, but it helps in giving people of all different ages a better basic understanding relating how to best control a two-wheeled machine.
How long does a CBT Test Take?
A CBT test can normally be completed in a day, but may take longer if you need more time to master the control of the motorcycle or moped. Knowing how to ride a bicycle will really help, so if you have not ridden one for a while it's a good thing to do before you take your CBT.
If you do not complete your CBT to the instructors satisfaction then you will be asked to come back on another day for additional training. If this happens do not be alarmed or upset, some people take longer to master control of a two wheeled vehicle than others, but we all get there in the end. The most important thing to remember is its for your safety. Your instructor will be thinking of your safety if they ask you to come back for additional training.
Will I be on my own during a CBT?
Normally during a CBT test in Brentford there will be other riders with you, you will all take part in classroom and off-road sections together as well as practical sections. Taking the test in a group is a great way to calm your nerves. The majority of motorcycle training schools will also supply motorcycles for hire during your CBT test in Brentford so you do not need to bring one with you. Sometimes the price of your CBT includes the hire of a motorcycle and sometimes it doesn't, so we always advise that you check this before booking. Here at Book CBT Now we will provide you with the information for all of your local CBT companies and you can then decide which company you wish to use.
