Why was Compulstory Basic Training introduced?
The reason that the government has brought in CBT (Compulsory Basic Training) tests in December 1990 was that it wanted to ensure that, before taking to the roads, people of all ages had at least a basic understanding regarding being in control of two-wheeled machines. The knock-on effect of this was to try and reduce the number of collisions involving motorcycles and mopeds. On completion of the evaluation, you shall receive on the day your pass certificate, also known as a DL196.
Is there a test at the end of CBT training in Canterbury?
Here at Book CBT Now, we want all of our clients, prospective or otherwise, to understand what CBT training is, what it entails, and why it is so important. Technically speaking, it is not a test - when you complete your CBT training, you will be awarded with a pass certification known as a DL196. You are able to take the CBT course once you have either turned sixteen if you are riding a moped, or seventeen if you are the owner of a motorcycle which is up to 125 cc.
Once you are CBT accredited, you will be able to ride for up to two years; after this, your CBT will have expired, and if you have not by then taken your full motorcycle test, you will be required to re-take. For anyone that is looking to find out more regarding the CBT tests that we source for clients, you can do so on our website.
